Thanks to Greg Stuart for his infinite patience and technical assistance in getting us through the recording session tonight for Butterflies Are Free. We had a huge bunch of fun! Well, maybe Kyler wasn't feeling the fun so much ... but it turned out FABULOUS in the end! Don't wait any longer - reserve your tickets NOW!!!

Butterflies Are Free ... and so are you!
I am putting together a set list of go-go dance music for Butterflies Are Free (November dinner theatre) and wondered if you might have some tracks in your collections that you might share? Circa 1966-1969? We’re looking to create an atmosphere akin to a go-go club for the preshow including a go-go girl cage with dancers... Some of the tunes might include:
Going to a Go-Go, Smokey Robinson
These Boots were made for walking
Hanky Panky, Tommy James and The Shondells
There is a great article in the Port Alberni Times this week addressing the issue of apathy when it comes to local arts productions. Click here to read the whole article. The same could likely be said in may communities, including our own Maple Ridge. We all have a stake in our community - we get out of it what we put in. So GET OUT! Be FREE! Butterflies Are Free!
Thanks to everyone for their support and another successful Garage Sale and AGM 2010! The weather gods smiled their warmth on the piglets on Saturday, creating a perfect day for garage sailing and promoting the upcoming season, beginning with our dinner theatre in November, Butterflies Are Free. We enlisted a few more Go-Go girls (when the boots fit, you gotta wear ‘em!) and met some great folks. Welcome to Kaleigh Robertson, our newest piglet who will be doing makeup for Butterflies.
I just got off the phone with Amy from the Times asking me how I feel about cuts to the adult arts programs. Apparently the government just announced that they are cutting 100% of funding to ALL adult arts programs! Let me see.... how do I feel about that? .... unprintable!
Yes, Canada is celebrating! The national pride is palpable! Never before has there been a time like this when the whole country was so united, at peace with one another and the world, so positively joyous! And the reason? The Olympics? Well, that may be part of it, but in my book, it's that one day, each and every year, that the country raises their snouts and looks up from their morning slop to celebrate National Pig Day! So here's to the Emerald Pigs, their progeny and their upcoming projects. In the spirit of good swill, get out there and OINK, loud and proud!
TIME SENSITIVE!!!! Advocating for the Arts:
... time passing, funding receding, new challenges approaching ... CELEBRATION!
