Thanks everyone! "Catch" us in Creston!

Thanks to
everyone who came out and/or sent good wishes and/or got lost trying to
be supportive last night for the premiere of Sweet Sorrow Productions
and Catch. I am constantly in awe of our amazing arts community and
their generosity. It was wonderful to see faces I hadn't seen in a
while and meet new friends as well. Thank you all for helping this
production team on its journey to Creston next week. But please don't
wish us any more broken legs! Chris' mom, Karen Cresswell, our ballroom
dance instructor, and her broken foot were enough!

Fraser Valley Zone Festival!

"Awards become corroded, friends gather no dust.” - Jesse Owens

The Fraser Valley Zone festival has been tremendous so far! A great week of theatre education and the Langley Player are FABULOUS hosts! The theme of the week is Return to the 60's for Langley's 40th anniversary, which is perfect because so far the theme of the shows has been Love, Love, Love! Last night’s performance of Brooklyn Boy was brilliant with an amazing set design that Jayson would have drooled all over!

Happy Earth Day!

Thanks to Mother Nature for a beautiful day in the park – she is the GODDESS, after all! - We had a FABULOUS day and made $75.28 facepainting and did lots of  promotion for Mainstage and Romeo and Juliet!!! Lots of networking with politicians from all stripes, Lindy Sisson from the ACT, Daniel from Recycling and Tiffany Parton, the new exec director of the Food Bank and Ineke of the BIA, who is going to help us with our “coupon booklet”. Kathleen had her picture taken for the NEWS – AGAIN!!!!! Can you say “overexposure”?  “Always BE Producing!”

Actors!

Actors!

I heard this joke on CBC the other day, applied to rock guitarists, but I think it applies to actors equally well!

Mommy's Boy

Mommy's Boy

Remember that we don't stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing! - Benjamin Franklin

Remembering Bob

One of our dear piglets is gone this week. I know that all of the Emerald Pigs who knew Bob Cunningham will join me in sharing our condolences with his family at this time of sadness. He and Iris supported our fledgling theatre group from its inception, attending fundraisers, donating their house and yard for garage sales and dressing up just for the sake of silliness. Bob was a quiet, kind, sweet and gentle man who gave an enormous amount back to his community. He will be remembered fondly.

Play big or play small, the important thing is the fun of it all!

Hello Emerald Piglets!  As the year quickly draws to a close, I wanted to update you all on our upcoming projects and exciting events for 2009!

We will be auditioning for Romeo and Juliet, A Clash of Cultures, in January.

Save the Pantages

I had to write to draw your attention to a situation that needs our collective and creative attention. Please support this worthy cause and sign the petition at: http://www.petitiononline.com/pantages/
